Great detailed model

The Park Royal carriages are top notch models. I am reminded of the vehicles when in service with CIE inward opening doors and spacious interiors.

The Class 89 Crew, Driver/Secondman, BR pack is another excellent Accurascale accessory. The figures are very well scaled and look right for the locomotive, without appearing oversized or bulky in the cab.
The 3D printed detail is sharp, and the colour application is much better than many traditional painted crew figures. Compared with some older crew packs from other manufacturers, these look more natural and much better proportioned.
A good crew makes a surprising difference to a locomotive, especially on a detailed model like the Class 89 as you can see in my photo added. These figures help bring the cab area to life and make the model look more complete.
Not the cheapest accessory, but the quality is excellent and they are well worth adding

These Accurascale Hunslet Austerity Industrial crew figures are excellent. I bought them to go into some of my industrial tank locomotives, where the cab area is visible and a good crew makes a big difference to the finished look.
The scale looks spot on. They do not appear oversized or bulky, which is a problem I have had with some other crew figures from other manufacturers. These look properly proportioned and should sit naturally in the cab.
The 3D printed detail and colour application are very good, and they look sharper than many traditional painted crew figures. At £12.95 for the pair they are not cheap, but the quality is there and they add a lot of character to the locomotive.
At the moment I have only photographed them in the packaging, but I will be fitting them later and may update the review with installed photos over the next few days. Based on the quality, scale and finish, these are a fantastic accessory.

This Accurascale Class 37 37408 in EWS livery, DCC Sound Fitted, is a superb locomotive. It runs beautifully, the factory sound is excellent, and the control is smooth and precise.
I purchased the full sound-fitted Run 3 Class 37 range, and this was the final one I added. I will be honest, the EWS maroon and gold livery is probably my least favourite Class 37 livery in real life, but that is not Accurascale’s fault. They have accurately reproduced the locomotive as it appeared, and judged purely as a model, it is excellent.
The Class 37 is, for me, one of the strongest models Accurascale produce, alongside their Class 55 Deltics. It feels substantial, looks superb, and has the sort of detail and presence that makes it stand out immediately on the layout. The latest run also benefits from the improvements and refinements Accurascale have made, and it feels like a very polished release.
If I could give four and a half stars, I probably would, purely because the real-life EWS livery is not my favourite. But that would be unfair to the model itself. The locomotive performs brilliantly, sounds fantastic, and is accurately finished.
A superb Class 37 and an easy five stars.

I now have two ESU 50115 Mobile Control Pro wireless throttles, and they are absolutely brilliant.
They work very well with the ESU ECoS system, giving proper handheld control without being tied to the main command station. The response is smooth, setup is straightforward, and the whole unit feels like a quality piece of equipment.
For running multiple locos, operating around the layout, or simply having more flexible control, this is a superb accessory. I would not want to be without them now.

The ESU 41010 Loco Cradle is a must-have accessory for any serious model railway enthusiast. It safely and securely holds OO gauge locomotives while you work on them, fit decoders, service them or carry out general maintenance.
It is far better than using improvised foam blocks or other makeshift solutions. The ESU cradle feels properly designed for the job, protects the model well and gives you confidence when working on detailed locomotives.
A really useful feature is the magnetic strip in the middle, which holds small screws safely in place when removing bodies, fitting decoders or servicing locos. That is a big plus, as tiny screws are very easy to lose.
For the price, it is excellent value and one of those accessories you quickly wonder how you managed without. Simple, practical and absolutely brilliant.

I finally got around to installing my Accurascale sound decoder and 8 ohm speaker into 37420 yesterday. This is my fourth Class 37 loco. The first one came ready fitted, the second one 37001 I installed, the third one, another 37001 currently has a LokPilot installed. I have the speaker for it but await incoming stock of the original sound decoder. 37420 has the refurbished sound file and 8 ohm speaker. The installation is very simple but take your time rerouting the wire bundle on either side of the speaker prior to installing it with the two clips. Do not connect the speaker wire yet. You need to install the sound decoder first then plug in the speaker wire. Test, clip the roof panel back in place. Job done - just need to change the address. As I said, take your time, it takes about 20 mins. Highly recommended.
