D9016

First of all I would like to thank the team at Accurascale for holding back the delivery of my Deltic whilst I was on holiday over Xmas.
Haven't run the model properly yet, but have powered it up and played with the sound functions and I must say, very impressed the model sounds fantastic and oozes quality.
Well done accurascale, if 37902 is as good as the Deltic, then you are onto another winner.

The purple peril

I have several accurascale deltics in the collection. Up,until now I have the porterbrook Deltic. However on December 23rd I noticed that it was still available, I took the plunge and bought it for myself as a Christmas present . I placed the order on the 23rd at about 1250 not expecting it until after Christmas. About an hour or so later my email pinged to to inform me that it was on its way. Arrived 0930 on Christmas Eve ,delivery being made by DPD. The locomotive is certainly distinctive in its purple livery and wipac clusters but looks much better in the flesh than in a photograph. The livery grows on me, but I’m sure that there are those that hate it.

9016 Gordon Highlander Porterbrook Purple

Brilliant model with fantastic detail, exquisite livery application plus smooth and powerful motor. More robust than batch 1 Accurascale Deltics, having no detached detail parts, although a coupling was loose in the box and easily reattached. Great sound project, though drive hold function didn’t work until CVs were corrected. Headcodes excessively bright, but readily changed by adjusting CVs - strangely this needs different values for each end to get equivalent brightness. Here’s what I used:-

Lighting:
CV31 = 16, CV32 = 0,
CV262 = 5,
CV270 = 10.

Drive Hold:
CV31 = 1, CV32 = 1,
CV267 = 32,
CV268 = 2,
CV31 = 16, CV32 = 8,
CV372 = 128,
CV373 = 64,
CV374 = 0.

So far so good

Very good secure packaging, arrived safely. Just a few adjustments the head code digit insert has been pushed in a bit far, and alternating the CV’s for brightness of the panel as well. Otherwise it’s a perfect runner.

The Purple Deltic With DCC Sound

Worth waiting 2 years for, I'm addicted to the sound of this thing and can't fault any of the detail, also can't believe how heavy this loco is...just amazing!

Another excellent model from Accurascale

An excellent Deltic model from Accurascale! Great weight for faultless traction and pickup, and a trusty powerful mechanism.
